Howdy from Havana ,Illinois.

This morning the much anticipated ( atleast to me) westbound KJRY train made it's westbound towards La Harpe.  I have been being mindful and made it a point to listen for them the past two days.  I guess they might have gotten held up by exchange with UP over some Oil Lube Cars or something according to a friend. I don't know too much about their East Peoria or La Harpe operations didn't know what to expect or what day.  Today I got lucky but had limited gas as well as battery power on my camera so I took  Scott's camera as a back up.  I did film one video with it  just in case the one on mine  didn't turn out since it cut off.  It turned out better than i had expected so no big deal. I also took pictures so just set his camera on top of the car to film.  I know i know get a tripod.  I'm cheap what can I say also i like the personal feel of filming myself. For years the city of Canton has failed time after time to promote it's  rich history. This city  after all had a huge manufacturing factory that made plows at one time, this area enjoyed two railroads once and Fulton County was rich in coal mines. This town has never really cared for it's history for the past twenty years or so and is more concerned on a profit or looking the other way when it comes to economic growth. At  one time this town was probably a town to be proud of long before I was born because I have never exactly felt much pride growing up here not because i hate the city itself but because of the lack of opportunity and things to enjoy. We could benefit from a  museum or two, a zoo, historical markers or atleast something in the way to pride this town of it's history.  The CB&Q depot could have been used as a museum but instead the city council uses it to make sure this town remains the boring one horse town that it curre...

Yesterday while out I wondered if a westbound train would happen so I start looking around as well as took pictures of some tracks cause I was bored. I asked in a group if KJ was running today and was  told they should.  I go to Breeds and take pictures of tracks and hear a train horn. I film the train and give a heads up in the facebook group from my phone then start filming and taking pictures in various spot.  I finally got  something on the od TP&W Big Creek bridge. I follow it all the way to Seville. The Train included Prex #1611 (lead), #2032 and #2003.  Prex #1611 is going back to La Harpe for mechanical work and will be shipped to another railroad in the near future.  The F units at La Harpe should be returning to service soon.  I film in Breeds, Canton, Cuba, Smithfield and Seville. ...
