Galesburg Industrial connector track movement....

Yesterday the day I turn one year closer to being ancient...oh hell already there... I come across something on my bucket list by accident which made my day. Some people know I recently moved up to Galesburg and have been exploring it and also getting more adjusted to it and where everything is. I'm also starting to learn the lines and directions of each line up here. I've also watched the yard from time to time for various activity just to learn more about operations than other than what I normally see down in the boon docks of Fulton County. Anyway was heading back to Henderson Street to catch Highway 10 to go back home when i see lights coming off the Chillicothe Sub and thought oh good I lucked out. I did too because catching something on this line  was a bucket list activity I was going to do this week sometime but I was going to go for  a City Job train in the evenings. I probably still will but this train was the first of anything I have ever seen on this tra...

Hello Galesburg...Buh Bye Canton

The blog will be renamed to Galesburg instead of Canton since thankfully I have moved away from that one horse town to a better town with more options in many ways. Canton just wants to remain a no growth community and only attract food  joints to stuff their faces with instead of trying to attract various stuff instead of the same type of stuff over and over again. People might be happy living in a town where it's boring as hell and the options are limited such as limited choices in medical care, shopping, or things to do. I'll miss the geese, KJRY that passes through there and my Dad is buried there but that's it. I have wanted toe scape Canton for decades and finally had the opportunity and I couldn't be happier so hello Galesburg good bye Canton. This is so long overdue. So if the blog name changes this is why.

I did expect Rochelle to be more active than it was but I still managed to walk away having caught some action so my time was not wasted. I caught both BNSF and some Union Pacific action one of which  was an Autorack which i love those. I also lurked on the southern part of the city of Rochelle and seen some Burlington Junction Railway locomotives and caught one BJRY movement. I barely got them though and got there just in time. I also explored the area  west of the UP yard at Rochelle around Flagg, Illinois. In Mendota I took pictures of the displays at the museum and Amtrak station area and caught Amtrak #4617 pulling to the station. I had hoped to catch ...
