Unexpected Quad Cities visit

On Saturday, October 10, 2020 a friend and I made plans to railfan around Galesburg but due to a train in the yard pulling out enroute to the Barstow Subdivision we ended up chasing the BNSF H-GALGFD northward catching it at Lynn Center and Joslin, Illinois. It had one CAT equipment on it, an interesting reefer and a Chicago Northwestern hopper. I took a few shots of the cars that caught my eye in the yard. We filmed it from a bridge at Lynn Center before catching her again in Joslin, Illinois.

We also would go to Colona and Barstow and catch an approaching Quad Cities local and later on its return trip. We caught her pulling through Colona and in the evening saw her depart Barstow, Illinois where the yard is.

We also caught it again at Rio, Illinois.

Then we braved the mess of a construction currently going on in the Quad Cities and go chase after a departing CP 475 train with Heritage CP 7010 leading. We catch her at Pleasant Valley, Iowa north of Davenport.

In Davenport, Iowa we saw an SOO unit in the Nahant yard then explored some abandoned tracks in the area before catching a CP local who picked up a load from IAIS.

All and all I really enjoyed myself and caught quite a few things or at places I have never caught action before atleast moving. It was awesome and a beautiful warm day to boot. Cheers.
