Afternoon coal train (BNSF) in Fulton County, Illinois
This afternoon caught a BNSF fully loaded coal train at Ipava so I turn around and go after it taking pictures east off Ipava. Then wanting to film it head up to Lewistown off Sycamore and wait a bit for it. It was moving slow so waited maybe fifteen or twenty minutes angering my mother. LOL. Oh well dropped her off so could film it. Then afterwards take Route 100 up to Bryant and set up there and photograph it. After this went to Saint David also off Route 100 and wait for it. I both filmed a little bit of it before taking pictures of the tail end passing some big structure that hasn't seen business in well over twenty five or more years possibly before 1985. I have no idea if it once used freight train service. The locomotives were leading two #8456, and #9718 and the tail end was #5813 and # 5813. According to Rail archive or whatever it's called the types were #8456 (SD70ACE), #9718 (SD70MAC), #5854 ( ES44AC) and # 5813 (also ES44AC). This train was heading east to Duck Creek Power plant east of Dunfermline, Illinois. This was a surprising accidental find and the highlight of the day.
