Another frigid day for errands and fanning...
Once again a frigid air mass starts off everyone's day and I chase KJ
as well as see a few trains working around errands. Thanks Canada
and Alaska for the air mass by the way the entire country appriciates it.
I know you're all just trying to share and all but please don't. I kid I kid.
It's Illinois and it's winter what can one expect? Mild winters every year?
Pffft Keep dreaming.
This morning I run into KJRY on the way back from Cuba. I don't like
dealing with lots of people at the Dollar Store in Canton so I just go to
Cuba's. I'm an odd one. I catch KJRY's morning westbound around the
Wee Ma Tuk Country club area so turn around and chase it. I film and
photograph it in various places. In Smithfield watched them drop off
some cars onto a siding then for a finale I catch them at Bushnell crossing
the diamond. I film them east of Cuba, in smithfield, and crossing the
Spoon River at Seville. At the diamond I also see prior to KJRY a BNSF
with a Warbonnet # 4719. After this i go run something for my mom then
go pay something in Pekin.
While in Pekin I was hoping to swing up and catch an Iowa Interstate but
no such luck. I read a heads up about a CN train at Wesley Road but wanted
to take a chance instead of going for a sure thing. No such luck. I have little
luck with Iowa other than a few times and then it was by a heads up. Haha.
I stick around Chillicothe for BNSF action to make up for it so not really a
loss. I read a heads up about a BNSF Feed train at Darst Street as i entered
Peoria heading back so took Route 8 back and seen it at Edwards. By that
time it was dark so had to look for a well lit crossing. Sadly I only came across
one which was at Yates City. The video didn't turn out well but i forgot to
bring the better camera for night so whatever. My stupidity. A friendly
cop stopped to see if i was okay and we talked a little while I filmed. I very
much appriciate the friendliness so people who hates cops not all are bad.
I've actually ran into more friendly ones than not so friendly. This was my
first train I filmed at Yates City. I just wish it turned out better. Oh well.
There is always another time and hopefully warmer weather. I'm glad I
caught what i did though so no regrets.
